Feeding Made Simple
Everything you need to know about feeding your dog fresh, nutritious meals
Switching to fresh food doesn't have to be complicated. We've made it simple to give your dog the nutrition they deserve. Follow our easy guide to get started.
4 Simple Steps to Fresh Feeding
Calculate Portions
Use our Multi-Food Calculator to guide you in finding the right amount for your dog.
Use Feeding Calculator →Transition Gradually
Go Slow: Transition over 7-10 days to avoid digestive upset.
Monitor Your Dog: Watch for changes in stool, appetite, or energy. Adjust pace if needed.
Hydration: Ensure plenty of fresh water during the transition.
Store Properly
Refrigerate or Freeze Immediately: Keep packs needed for current feeding in the fridge; store the rest in the freezer.
Fridge Shelf Life: Up to 7 days once thawed.
Freezer Shelf Life: Up to 1 year (best within 6 months).
Defrosting: Move from freezer to fridge about 12 hours before feeding. Quick thaw under cold water is okay.
Refreezing: Food can be thawed and refrozen safely, but minimize repeated cycles to maintain quality.
Temperature Safety: Discard if left out for more than 1 hour.
Containers: Use airtight containers if transferring food.
Monitor & Adjust
Watch for positive changes: firmer stools, shinier coat, more energy. Adjust portions as needed to maintain ideal weight.
7-Day Transition Schedule
Important: If your dog experiences digestive upset at any point, slow down the transition. Some dogs may need 10-14 days to fully adjust.
Pro Feeding Tips
Consistent Schedule
Feed at the same times each day. Most adult dogs do well with 2 meals daily (morning and evening).
Room Temperature
Let food sit for 10-15 minutes after refrigeration. Dogs prefer food at room temperature, not cold.
Fresh Water Always
Fresh, clean water should be available at all times. Change water daily and clean the bowl regularly.
